Periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate (PPKTP) is a ferroelectric nonlinear crystal with a unique structure that facilitates efficient frequency conversion by Quasi-Phase Matching (QPM). The crystal consists of alternating domains that are spontaneously polarized with opposite orientations, enabling QPM to correct phase mismatch in nonlinear interactions. This makes the crystal suitable for efficient conversion of any nonlinear process in its trans- parent range.
